A sophisticated and slightly scandalous heartwarming comedy, set in New York City’s iconic Bloomingdales.

Amongst the fresh pink blush and soft eyeshadow pallets at the famous New York City retail giant Bloomingdales, sits one of the store's original make-up salesgirl, Jinx. This 71-year-old and her white gloves have made a very comfortable and possibly entitled home. However not all her colleagues find Jinx as enticing as the row of glossy lipsticks displayed and perhaps retiring from the historic landmark isn’t as clear cut as the pristine glass countertops.

  • The black and white tiled floors began to fill with the sound of ladies' heels and soft chatter as the morning went by. ‘6,8, no, 7, 1’......Jinx’s brow wrinkled in confusion as she worked on her sudoku puzzle from behind her counter. The leather squeaked under her tail as she readjusted in the chair she had brought from home. She liked to sit when the day was quiet, but it was Friday, so she treated herself early today. ‘Jinx, do you have any Bloomingdales original lipsticks, the color Scarlett Scandal? I’ve sold out’. Said a voice overhead. Jinx looked up to see Sarah, a colleague who also worked in the make-up department. ‘Oh, that terrible color, no I don’t have any. And just as well, I can’t bare to look at it.’ Sarah raised her eyebrow, ‘but we got a new delivery on Wednesday. You should be fully stocked?’ She then looked at the lipsticks on display in front of Jinx. There were several colours' missing, and too many of the same shade of pink. ‘Back in my day that colour was only for ladies of the evening,' she said with pursed lips as she looked down her nose. Sarah cleared her throat in disbelief. ‘You should really have all the colors out, so the customer has a variety of choices.’ ‘Nonsense, Jinx laughed. All the pinks and soft colors look lovely as I have them as she returned to her Sudoku. Leaving Sarah, no choice but to head back to her counter empty handed. ‘Yes, makes 10 – got it’ Jinx cheered.
